Reinventing a Norfolk village

Gissing is a small rural village deep in the flat English countryside of South Norfolk. At its heart is a Victorian primary school building, now used solely for various community activities, most notably as a Children's Centre.

Other activities include monthly meetings of Gissing Gardening Group, Gissing Reading Group and weekly meetings of Gissing Youth Club, Pilates classes run by Sharon Calton and dance classes run by The Hegarty School of Dance (Sam Watt).   For details of these, and other events such as the Gissing Summer Fayre and Gissing St Nicholas Fayre, look at the programme of events.  To appreciate the range of events supported, see the 'what was on' page.

Heart of Gissing is a charity which exists to maintain and develop the building and immediate area as a lively centre of village activity. You can find out more about the charity, and how it is run, here.
