Hearth in the Hills is a state licensed home day care designed to meet the needs of your family. A warm, safe setting provides a foundation for developmentally appropriate activities that are designed to help nurture and encourage children to discover their own abilities. Outdoor play, singing, games and stories as well as opportunities to develop small and large motor skills are an integral part of our curriculum.

The owner and primary care giver has a degree in early childhood education and is certified in Waldorf early childhood and has over fifteen years of teaching experience. We also offer parent education and support groups with a certified experience teacher in Waldorf and the R.I.E. method.

Young children find their way in the world through the imitation of the adults around them. Our daily and weekly rhythms include such things as story telling, puppetry, baking, gardening, finger plays and household activities. These activities are done with purposefulness and loving care involving the children as much as possible according to their ability.
