The Project

The aim of our project is to build up a knoweledge base of the general physio-chemical and biological patterns of Otago harbour. This involves the regular sampling of several key sites around the Otago Peninsula and surrounding areas. These can be seen on the map below:

 Once the samples have been taken, they are taken back to the laboratory at the University of Otago Chemistry Department. There, they are processed for the following results:
