Corinne Cox

Corinne Cox grew up in Birmingham in a family with six creative children. She took art classes as a child, all through the Mountain Brook school years and got a degree in Communication Arts from Florida State University.

She moved to Atlanta after college and worked as a graphic designer in design studios, advertising agencies, for magazines, many personal clients and was a partner in a small firm, all over a span of 20 years.

In 1994, Corinne moved to San Francisco. She continued working as a graphic designer along with taking art classes for the 12 years she lived there. She focused on ceramic art, studying all aspects of working with clay. After years of developing styles in several art mediums she is most known for making humorous clay sculptures with colorful raku glazes (see attachments). She tries to make art that evokes an emotion in order to create a memorable thought. Today, she has her own kilns at her home in Wedowee, Alabama.

Currently, when not working in clay or paint, Corinne is involved with the local magazine writing and photographing for articles. And also doing graphics for a Youth Foundation and other local businesses.
