Back in February 2005, Martin White and Mo Garrett got bored writing songs in a bedroom and not doing anything with them.  They decided to start their very own band - HeadPark.

First thing needed was a drummer.  This was surprisingly easy.  They enlisted the help of their good friend Martin Drummond.  And so, HeadPark was born.  The three of them headed on down to Blue Cat Studio in Paisley and started jamming away.   Before long, the first gig was on the horizon.  But this could not be achieved without a bass player.  With only a few weeks to find one, the search was on.

After a few enquiries and jams with various bass players they decided to go with Anthony Drummond, Martin's brother.  Anthony is an accomplished guitar player, but had never played bass before.  So, despite this, one week after joining the band, Anton was playing in bass our first gig.  This was held in the former Lush, Causeyside Street, Paisley in August 2005.

HeadPark then branched out to Glasgow and played Ivory Blacks and followed this up with a private gig in the Liberal Club, Paisley.  Growing in confidence and material they headed back to the big smoke and played Ivory Blacks once more and one week later in the Crow Bar, Paisley in April 2006.

The wheels well and truly came off the bandwagon after that gig.  Martin Drummond retired from drumming due to ill health (gammy knee).  And so the search for a new drummer ensued.  This proved to be extremely difficult.

In the meantime the boys enlisted Alan Glass from Erskine to become the lead singer.  This freed up Mo and his lead guitar playing.  Alan slotted right in.  Practice continued as the search went on for a new drummer.

At last a drummer was eventually found.  Kris Padbury (Paddy), a paisley student joined the band.  And it wasn't long before a gig had been lined up.  Battle of the bands 2007 heats were being held and HeadPark entered.  Their first gig in 11 months and with a new lead singer and drummer.

The Crow Bar, Paisley hosted a BOTB heat in April 2007.  HeadPark managed to win their heat and get a place in the final.  This was held at Paisley Arts Centre in aid of Make a Wish Foundation.  Bagwash won the final with HeadPark finishing 2nd.  Not a bad achievement for the second gig with a new line-up.

And for the future?  More gigs are in the pipeline.  Check out their Myspace for gig details.

Alan Glass has since left the band to pursue a career on the rigs.  Mo is back on vocal duties with Martin and Anton backing him up.

Next gig will be 10th May 2008 at Paisley Arts Centre.
