Q: Why did you only test LCD HDTVs?
A: Quite simply, I was in the market for an LCD HDTV. CRTs are larger and more cumbersome. Plasmas flicker noticeably to my eye. So LCD really was the only option available that fit my needs.

Q: My friend says that CRT HDTVs don't have this lag problem you speak of.
A: Your friend is wrong. The lag I'm referring to specifically has to do with the video processing circuitry. It takes time to process the incoming signal and convert it to the appropriate format. Take a look at the Toshiba results in my test which are in both 16:9 vs 4:3, look at the time difference between the scaled and unscaled modes. You'll notice that the 16:9 is significantly longer to process than the 4:3 which is what the native signal was coming in as.
