Welcome to the Howard County Parents for School Music Website!

 

We are looking for volunteer parents who want to help in supporting school music programs by getting involved in HCPSM.  We plan on meeting during the 2009-2010 school year on the following dates (subject to change) at the Faulkner Ridge Center (very near the Columbia Mall).  All meetings will begin at 7pm.

We would ideally like to have one parent representative from every school.  The primary focus in the past has been to create a network of parents who are ready, willing and able to keep music as a VITAL part of our children's curriculum.  Our most visible presence has been in the annual nomination of the Howard County Music Educator of the Year.  However, as budgets continue to tighten at the Federal, State and County level, it is as imperative as ever that we stay willing to advocate for our children's musical lives. 

 

**We are currently in the process of expanding our information offered about the Accompanist and Private Instructors.  If you are an accompanist or private instructor and would like to send more information such as the city you teach in, whether you travel to students, a very very brief bio, and any specific area of expertise, we will add limited information to our listings.
