The Hawthorne Fire Department Band is a community concert band that performs in northern New Jersey. The band was founded in 1924 and is directed by Roger Vreeland.  The band performs marches, music from broadway, patriotic songs and traditional concert band classics.

The annual Spring Memorial Concert took place at the Van Riper Ellis Broadway Baptist Church in Fair Lawn, NJ on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 8:00 p
m.

On October 1, 2011, the band performed at the 3rd annual Hawthorne Day celebration. The band also plays in the annual Hawthorne Memorial Day Parade.


 
 
New brass, woodwind & percussion instrumentalists are welcome to join the band! We rehearse Friday evenings at 8:00 pm at Hawthorne Fire Department Firehouse #5, on Lafayette Ave (Extension), located one block from Route 208 off Goffle Road. The rehearsal season begins in February and ends in April and resumes in September through the October concert. Members range from High School musicians through Senior Citizens.
