public lands, parks and botanical gardens can help us retain good trees for lauhala growth. 
 | Those who are continuing the cultural practice of lauhala weaving are finding that more and more of our good trees are falling to the chain saw with the relentless development that we are experiencing on the Big Island. 'Ohi Lauhala is taking steps to address this problem and have invited current weavers from all Islands to come to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park to care for the puhala. |
