Lance's Story:

 

Lance (named after Lance Armstrong, because he is the fastest thing I have ever seen) is one of the lucky one's. He comes from a loving home that could not take him when they moved. They listed him on craigslist and I found the listing. The family had found out something that people may not know and that is that some hamsters do not like living with other hamsters. Most pet experts will agree that unless hamsters are raised together as babies you should not introduce them into a cage with another one. In Lance's case, he would fight with the other hamster and the family had to keep them separate.

 

Lance is much more friendly and out going than Franklin, he does not hide when I walk into the room he just keeps doing whatever he was doing. Now, if I stand over his bin he will usually go inside one of his many hiding places. His favorite is an empty box that is long and narrow, he has it stuffed full of bedding and he sleeps nice and cozy in there. When I want to find him, I simply pick up boxes until I feel him move. Again, he does not panic but will usually walk to the edge of the box and say hi.

 

We are still getting to know Lance and learning about what he likes and does not like. He loves fresh lettuce and leafy vegetables he is not real crazy for green beans though. He seems to enjoy all nuts and cruchy things I give him but since he is so little he eats alot less than Franklin.
