Entries are now open for the Fleet Half 2010. This race is a great local event, traditionally attended by a large contingent from HRR. It is also the final race in both the Club Championship and the Multi Race Challenge – so lots to run for! Make sure you get your entry in nice and early as this race will fill up quickly.

Cross Country

The 2009/2010 Today’s Runner Cross Country League has its opening event on Sunday 8th November.
This first race is hosted by Portsmouth Joggers and is set in the beautiful venue of Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
The race starts at 11.00am. There is ample parking available and please allow about 5 minutes to walk from the car park to the start. Some people prefer to car share to the event, watch out nearer the time for details of when and where to meet.

An important part of these races is the tea, sandwiches and cake provided afterwards by the host club (some say it is the best reason to take part!) so remember to bring a couple of pounds for this.

It is hoped that everybody can come along and join in. There is no need for registration, please just turn up on the day and wear your club vest/tee shirt. Last season when we had the biggest turn out at these events, we had our best results. So please come along, support your club and have a very enjoyable morning. If you need any more information about this race or the XC series please catch Carol or Ged on a Tuesday or Thursday evening.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

Races: Fleet 10K October 18th, Stubbington 10K January 10th

One of our local and MRC races, the Fleet 10K is fast approaching. Along with the Fleet Half in March and our own handicap race, it also forms part of the HRR Club Championship. Don’t miss out, make sure that you get your entry in NOW.

Another race in the MRC and on the HRRL calendar is the Stubbington 10K which always reaches the race limit very quickly. Entries are now open and it is filling up fast. There is also a fun run of approximately a mile for 7 – 14 yr olds. Entries for these races are available from Fleet and Crookham AC and Stubbington Green AC websites or you can enter online via Runners World.

More details about the MRC and HRR Club Championship are available on our website.

Club Gazebo and Banner

Anybody at Windle Valley or the Alice Holt 10K will have seen that the club now owns a gazebo and that the club banner has been found! Nicky and I will look after these items on behalf of the club and will take them to appropriate races/events as required. However if you are attending an event for the club where either item could be used, please contact either of us to arrange collection.
