MITES is the Michigan Industrial & Technoloy Educational Society, a professional organization for teachers that encourages and promotes the applied arts field. Each year they host a state competition in the beginning of May to show the best of the best in many fields of applied arts. In order to qualify for the state competition, students' projects are entered into a regional competition and the top four move to the state level.

The MITES regional competition for 2009 will be held on April 29th, 2009 in Bridgman. The state competition will be held May 6-9, 2009. These dates are approaching fast and you need to be sure that you are ready for the competition.
