tatwavivEkaH

swataMtra parataMtraM ca pramEyaM dwividhaM matam |

swataMtrO bhagavAn viShNuH nirdOShAKilasadguNaH || 1 ||

1. Independent and Dependent are accepted(mata) as Two fold Real Knowable Entities. The Independent is BhagavAn vishNu free from all defects and full of auspicious qualities.

dwividhaM parataMtraM ca bhAvO&bhAva itIritaH |

pUrvAparasadAtwEna trividhO&bhAva iShyatE || 2 ||

2. The Dependant is stated (Irita) to be twofold - Existent (bhAva) and Non-Existent is deemed to be (IShyate) three fold: Prior or Anterior (i.e. one that exists before its precedent comes into being), Posterior (i.e. one which exists after the destruction of Antecedent) and constant (i.e., one that exist always).

bhAvAbhAvaswarUpatwAt nAnyOnyAbhAvatA pRuthak |

cEtanO&cEtanashcEti bhAvashca dwividhaH smRutaH || 3 ||

3. The mutually non-existent Entity (anyOnyAbhAvatA - Difference) is not a separate division as it is identical with either Existent (bhAva) or Non-existent (abhAva)

The Existent is accepted (smRuta) to be two-fold (namely) Sentient and Non-sentient

nityamuktashcasRutiyuk parataMtrO&pi cEtanaH |

dwidhaiva shrIrnityamuktA sRutiyuk ca dwidhA mataH || 4 ||

4. The Dependent Sentient is also two-fold only, as Ever released (nityamukta) and Contacted with movement or worldly journey (sRutiyuk). The Ever-released is Sri (Lakshmi) and the one with worldly contact is known to be two fold.

muktO&mukta iti hyatra brahmAMtA uttarOttaram |

muktAH shataguNAH prOktAH ramA tEbhyO&KilairguNaiH || 5 ||

5. As Released and Un-released. Among these (atra) , the Released souls upto Brahma (four-faced God) are superior to their lower ones by hundred counts (shataguNa) in their higher graduation (uttarOttara).

nityaM bahuguNOdriktA tatO&naMtaguNO hariH |

amuktAstrividhAstatra nIcamadhyOccabhEdataH || 6 ||

6. RamA is ever superior to them by many counts or multiples in all quantities . Hari is superior to her by endless multiples (anaMtaguNa) . There (among Souls) , the Un-released are three fold with the division of low, Middle and High.

muktiyOgyAstatra cOccAH nityAvartAstu madhyamAH |

nIcA nityatamOyOgyAH dwidhaivAcEtanaM matam || 7 ||

7. Among them, the High are those that deserve release the Middle are ever in (worldly) repeated movements (nityAvartAH). The low are ever fir for ever-lasting darkness (ignorance and grief). The Non-Existent is held to be Two-Fold only.

nityAnityatwabhEdEna dEsaH kAlaH shrutistathA |

bhUtEMdriya prANa guNa sUkShmarUpaM ca nityakam || 8 ||

8. With the divisions of Eternal and Non-Eternal, the Eternal s space (Ether) , Time (flow) , Veda and Elements , Sense-Organs, Vital airs, the Three qualities and the Subtle unit.

EShAM vikArO&nityaH syAt nityA Eva hi cEtanAH ||

guNa kriyA jAtipUrvA dharmAH sarvE&pi vastunaH || 9 ||

9. The transformations of these (units) (into gross objects) are non-eternal. Only the Sentient (souls) are eternal. All the properties (of an entity) beginning with qualities, action, genesis are without exception (api)

rUpamEva dwidhaM tacca yAvadwastu ca KaMDitam |

KaMDitE bhEda aikyaM ca yAvadwastu na bhEdavat || 10 ||

10. The forms (rUpa) of (identical with ) the Entity (vastu) only. And that (form) is two-fold-Ever abiding with the Entity and disrupted or mutalated (khaNDita - cut off in the middle). In the Multitated form, (there is) difference (with Entity).

KaMDitaM rUpamEvAtra vikArO&pi vikAriNaH |

kAryakAraNayOshcaiva tathaiv guNatadwatOH || 11 ||

11. Here, the Mutilated form alone is transformation of the changing Entity, as in Cause and Effect, similarly quality and its receptacle.

kriyAkriyAvatOstadwat tathA jAtivishEShayOH |

vishiShTashuddhayOshcaiva tathaivAMshAMshinOrapi || 12 ||

12. Action and its resort as well as the genesis and species and the Conditioned and Pure ., and Part and Whole.

ya Etat parataMtraM tu sarvamEva harEH sadA |

vashamityEva jAnAti saMsArAnmucyatE hi saH ||

13. One who knows all this (afore-said) as always dependent upon Hari, will be released from the worldly journey (of Birth and death)
