Course goals:  Familiarize students with regional flora so that they may recognize common vascular plant families based on field characters.  They should become familiar with the use of floras and keys to do technical identification of vascular plants.  Undergraduate plant taxonomy is a field-oriented class.  These are skills that are developed through practice, and lab activities are designed to meet course goals and objectives.
