This is the last trivia night for the year, so bring your team down for a battle of rockwit... doors at 8, eyes down at 9pm sharp.

Friday November 27th
Ali Tapper, Dean Carroll - Earthworker, 9pm, $5
What a woman, with what a voice!  word is Ali has formed a band, word is, you should come grab a peice of this lovely layered jazz/trad/folk cake.  Dean is new to town, so you better be nice - blues/roots/goodness.

Saturday November 28th
Music NT Songwriters retreat showcase, Aaron Isaak, 9pm, $5
In August this year, 10 singer songwriters from Darwin went on a weekend retreat to collaborate on songwriting - this event will be the performance of all tracks written from the event held by musicNT and APRA.  The songwriters were Jess Cooper (Aviators), Ali Tapper, Alice Rae (Countrytown collective), Gretchen Ennis (Straight Skirt), Jess Ribeiro, Julia Gray (Sunameke), Darryl Barba (Roymackonkey), Mark Hilton, Kris Keogh (Blastcorp), David Garnham (The Moving Targets), with conrtributions also from Robbie Collins (APRA) and Skye Raab (MusicNT/Corrugated Iron).
The night will be opened by one of the up and coming songwriters of ilk and well worth your attention, Aaron Isaak.

 

Friday December 4th, 9pm $5
Jess Ribeiro, Elemental

Jess Ribeiro returns to the Happy Yess stage, this time with out her bone collectors, and will be as enchanting and haunting as ever with her stark musical imagery.  Also will be the enigmatic Aly de Groot fronting Darwins roots/accoustic favs, Elemental.

Happy Yess favourites Cooperblack will dish up their fine electro-pop feed in their last Darwin show for a while before a southern sojourn, so come down, and be sure to catch Rico, who now sports the mysterious bio of "the less you know the better"

Sweet Amber, Zed Major

Darwin's Grunge band, ZEDMAJOR are kicking down doors and screaming "Fire!" in an attempt to save your lives in an epic battle between "Crap" music and "Epic" music.  Sweet Amber are bursting onto the scene with a fantastic marriage of post punk/post grunge rock.

2 Cats 1 Hat, Joe-head-joe
In what will be their last Darwin show for a time, also for a southern sojourn, those irrepressible ladies of hiphop will tantalize with their phat beats and cheese treats.
Joe-head-joe are to quote themselves, "Molested by Perversion itself"... be warned that those easily offended, may best not attend.

Morganics, DJ Chedlarok
Morganics is a nationally and internationally renowned, award winning hip hop artist/producer based in Sydney, and it is an honour to have him at the Yess - if you didn't catch him at this years Darwin Festival, here's your second chance!
DJ Chedlarok has amazed punters with his smooth style, spinning only vinyl, and only hip-hop/R'n'B circa 1980-1995
