Hello, and welcome to my homepage!  My name is Ha Nguyen, and I am currently a temporary Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA.

Prior to this, I held a tenure-track position as an
Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Wesleyan College in Macon, GA from August 2010 to December 2011.  I received my Ph.D. from Emory University in Atlanta, GA in May 2010 under the guidance of Vicki Powers.

My research in algebra lies in real algebraic geometry. I am particularly interested in questions about positive polynomials and sums of squares, and my current work is devoted to exploring representations of polynomials that are non-negative on some non-compact semialgebraic subsets of the plane.  Please visit the links on your left to learn more about my research, teaching, and other interests.
