Here are some specifics on the change and new services, please note and plan accordingly:

• This new LIVE@EDU account and SkyDrive storage is yours for life.
• Your e-mail address will remain the same – FirstName.LastName@students.rsd.edu or FirstName.LastName@students.thedeltahighschool.com
• We’ll start the change the evening of February 17 and continue over the weekend, once we begin, Outlook Web Access will no longer be available.
• All existing e-mail, folders, calendar entries, Tasks, Notes, etc. will be migrated.
• The new e-mail URL (website) will be https://studentmail.rsd.edu – effective 2/21/12.
• The first step for students after the migration will be for you to login on a district computer and reset your e-mail account (NOT network) password by accessing https://studentmail.rsd.edu
• This step must be completed on a district computer/laptop as you cannot initiate this change from outside the district.
• Unfortunately we have no way to migrate your passwords and we apologize for this; therefore, we’ll reset the temporary default password on all e-mail accounts to your StudentID + Az@ - for example 99911111Az@
• However, students can reuse their existing e-mail passwords but will need to login to reset passwords as the first step.
• We strongly recommend that you do reuse your existing password as they meet current district policy standards and follow industry password recommendations for using strong passwords.
• One exception is your new e-mail password is limited to 13 characters.
• Since your e-mail account will remain inactive until you change your password, please plan on doing this as soon as possible on February 21^st. Use your schools library, labs, student PC’s, etc. to make this change.
• We will continue to utilize your H drive folders through the end of this school year along with SkyDrive.
• We do recommend you move your H drive data to your new SkyDrive folder as soon as possible, this way you’ll have access to your data from outside the district via SkyDrive as soon as it is moved.
• Once school is out all H drive folders will be deleted and we’ll utilize SkyDrive storage exclusively going forward.
• Some students, less than 50, already have a Microsoft LIVE e-mail account using the rsd.edu domain. If you are one of these students you should have received notification to change this as we own the rights to the rsd.edu domain.
• Let us know if you encounter any issues with these accounts.
