The “CATT” bus operates in conjunction with Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership (HWCP) . The service was established in 2004 as a community bus service using fully accessible minibus because public transport, accessibility and mobility were all established as important issues for local people. The service operates Monday to Friday, plus some weekend trips. The service links less accessible areas with mainstream transport service routes and local places of activity. CATT membership is at present open to anyone over 16 living in Hartcliffe or Withywood and costs £3.50 per year. Travel tokens are available at most local retail outlets in multiples of five costing £2.50 for adults and £1.25 for children. CATT is an acronym for Community Action on Transport and Training. Volunteers are always needed to work as drivers or passenger assistants. Drivers complete MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) training and Passenger Assistants complete PATS (Passenger Assistants Training Scheme) training. Both of these voluntary positions could help volunteers into full/part time employment elsewhere.
Since November 2008 Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership have managed the @Symes Shuttle. The @Symes Shuttle operates Monday-Friday except Bank Holidays. |
