Dear HRLUG Members,
At our last meeting, there was some concern voiced regarding capturing video from websites and storing that data/information in Laserfiche. While we have a presentation pending for May 2010, I would like to hear from you regarding the copyright concerns expressed as this could have an impact on how we use Laserfiche and develop our best practices in Hampton Roads. Please don't hesitate to contribute your thoughts, ideas, and/or resources to this discussion.
Thank you!

This is an interesting point and one that we didn’t consider when we were tasked with finding a method of capturing video from the web. The product we use is “Replay Media Capture” (http://www.applian.com/). I searched their web site to see what their position is concerning this matter and found this: http://www.applian.com/legal.php.
To capture web pages (exactly as seen in the browser) we use “Faststone Capture” (http://www.faststone.org/).
To create video tutorials we use the freeware version of Jing which has a 5 minute time limit (http://www.jingproject.com/).
