Hamilton Waymire was born in New Jersey but raised and educated in Europe. He is currently a philosophy professor at a research university in California.
- His pulp story "Mr. Marsden Meets Scarface" was published at the now defunct Pulp Pusher webzine.
- Hamilton's short story "In Search of Gwen Guattari" won third place in the Mystery/Crime Fiction category of the Fourth Annual Writer's Digest Popular Fiction Awards Competition and Honorable Mention in the Genre Short Story category of the 78th Writer's Digest Annual Writing Competition.
- "A Man's Job" won fourth place in the 2009 Writers Bureau Short Story Competition.
- Hamilton's flash story "And Here's to You, Mrs. Edwardson" was published at Big Pulp in November of 2009 and won the Short Mystery Fiction Society's Derringer Award for Best Flash Story of 2009. See details here.

- In the Genre Short Story category of the 80th Writer's Digest Annual Writing Competition, Hamilton's tale "Poppy in Peril" made the top 100.
- "True Colors" won Sixth Place and Honorable Mention in the 2011 Writer's Digest Thriller Competition.
