Introduction

The Hamilton Art Society is housed in what was St Peter's Anglican Church on the corner of Main and St Clair Hamilton Ontario.  Membership is free and currently we meet on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm.  The Hamilton Art Society is one of many community  programs  sponsored by Harrrp, a local group connected with the Anglican Communion.
While membership is free and minimal materials are available for use, members are encouraged to supply their own, including easels. Members are also expected to contribute in other ways according to their abilities, skills and means.
The Hamilton Art society allows access to studio space for those who are unable to undertake artwork at home.  It is also a venue for artists to meet and exchange ideas.

Hamilton art society is for beginners and experienced painters alike.  If your interest is working with pencil, charcoal, water colour, acrylic or oil paints HAS is for you.  Instruction and help will be on hand on an informal basis, and those with existing skills are encouraged to share them.  Occasional talks on Art and art history will be available and guest speakers will from time to time be invited.  With this said emphasis will be on actually drawing and painting in the classical style.

While those wishing to participate are encouraged to provide their own materials, although as far as it is possible some will be available for communal use,  donations will not be turned away.

If you wish to produce works worthy of the masters come and join us.
