I have to stress the importance of tools like this one. Lego Mindstorms is a perfect way to use your Wiimote for an infinite amount of possibilities. They can be bought nearly everywhere for around $200-250 USD.

Computer Programs

Personally, I am a C++ buff, but there are many other applications for a Wiimote. However, with C++, you can make simple games that run on Wii controls. For example, I could make a program that waits for keyboard input. This is where GlovePIE comes in, and manipulates the keyboard input so your computer takes the command from your Wiimote.

Your games

You can design your own control scheme in 5 minutes tops for your favorite game. You just need bluetooth and the GlovePIE software to assign the different keys to different keyboard hits.
