Mission StatementTo build relationships with the immigrant community and serve their
needs by showing them all aspects of Christ's love. In doing so,
we strive to create, among the congregation, a culture of serving within
the church. What Motivates Us?Over the past year I have been contemplating what exactly it means to be a Christian. With society ever producing temptations to stray from our faith, how can a young man keep his way pure? How do we live out what we believe? I have observed many of my peers, young professionals, who have grown disillusioned with or removed from the process of walking with Christ, not knowing or understanding the point of countless Bible studies, Sunday schools, and morning sermons; these young men and women work as they live relatively carefree lives, but for what purpose? Their desultory walks are caused by a lack of guidance and goals.
But it was not until a student in my Sunday school class raised this issue of purposeful living that I fully realized the extent of the problem. Among believers in our church, there should not be these struggles of faith. Within any church, there should be ample opportunity to serve and act on belief, to show others Christ’s love in a productive and effective way. The Church, our church should be active flag-bearers and messengers of Hope, a firm hope to which we ourselves so desperately cling, reaching those who are not only deficient physically, but also spiritually. While we often talk about the meaning of Matthew 28:16-19, many of us fall short. Especially for those who doubt, Jesus gives us a clear edict: Go and make disciples of all nations. Through Christ’s grace and mercy, we should be able to push forward and continue onwards, laboring with all His energy which so powerfully works within us. As a result, we desire to create a long-term, sustainable, cross-generational ministry, full of Christly passion, with the hope of addressing these needs within and outside of Raleigh Chinese Christian Church.
