Carpenter’s Greenhouse Organic Produce is a family owned farm. Our 17 acre garden is certified organic. Since 1982, we have learned much about tasty varieties, freshness and quality. We offer the best in the three areas.
Our garden vegetables are available mid May to mid October with the help of greenhouses and hoop houses. By using our sustainable farming practices, including green renewable fuels, we ensure a healthy environment for future generations.
we sell our products at the farm and at the farmer’s markets in Ann arbor, Northville and Farmington. We also offer a Community Supported Agriculture program.
Our strawberries are now ripe. We have had some ripe
since late April
These are seascape, a relatively new variety from the University of
California at Davis.
They are described as a day neutral plant, that is the blossom and
setting of fruit does not depend on the length of the day. This means
the plants will bear fruit early and through the summer and fall.
The berries are slightly smaller than the June bearing varieties. |

The lettuce is grown hydroponically, we use the nutrient
film technique (NFT).
In this method a thin film of the nutrient solution runs down the bottom
of the trays. The roots grow into this solution, as shown here with the
cover of on of the trays removed.
The
nutrient solution is continuously monitored by the process control
computer and adjusted to the optimum plant needs. |
