This is a simple site to keep all my ham radio stuff and gadgets
About me.
I’ve had an Amateur Radio licence for a long time, since 1982. I did a lot of conversions of old PMR kit and Packet Radio in those days. Being a B call and restricted to above 30Mhz this was mostly on 2M and 70cm but I did have a nice 4M AM . Never worked any one on 4M but had great fun tracking down all the spurious signal it tended to give out.
Since those days I’ve been very quiet mostly Short wave listening and getting into software. I’m a big fan of open source. Some people spend hours and hours trying to get a cracked version of some commercial software when there is a perfectly good open source equivalent for free out there??
On the software front I’ve dabbled with python, VBscript, javascript and other web based programing. I’ve actually studied C, C++, assembler and web design at the OU (open university) and I now have a degree to prove it. This is one of the explanations of why I’ve not been on the air.
