Welcome to the Gutiérrez Medina Lab at IPICYT in San Luis Potosí, México. The goal of our lab is to study the biophysics of cellular and molecular systems in complex environments using the tools of biophotonics. Current work includes: uncovering mechanisms in the motor protein kinesin and in DNA-protein interactions at the single-molecule level, understanding the role of environmental factors in protein aggregation, and developing novel methods in optical microscopy.
