The Student Educator's Association is a representative body at Gustavus Adolphus College for all students who wish to join the workforce as an educator. Through our work with the Gustavus Education Department, we seek to provide learning opportunities for pre-service teachers and to foster a welcoming and cohesive environment for all students on campus, not just those within the department.

The mission of the Student Educators Association is to promote interest and enthusiasm for the professional field of education, foster communication between Education majors and Education Department faculty, and promote/provide information regarding relevant educational issues. We seek to create an environment within the Education Department that facilitates not only an individual's ability to teach, but to learn as well. The majority of our activities are geared towards community building, service learning, curriculum development, and other related activities.We also actively pursue professional development opportunities provided to us through Education Minnesota, the largest representative union for teachers in Minnesota. Education Minnesota is an active affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the AFL-CIO, and the National Education Association (NEA). Our organization also works closely with Gustavus Adolphus's chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (Phi Mu), an international honor society for educators committed to recognizing excellence among Education majors and facilitating support and professional growth for future teachers.
