How to embed flash into wave!
First, set up a site, like this one.
- 1) Attach a swf file to your page.
- 2) Then, download triggerfinal.xml as seen below.
- 3) Open triggerfinal.xml in a text editor such as Notepad++
- 4) Replace my .swf file and all dimensions with those appropriate to the swf you just attached to your page.
- You can get the address to your swf by right clicking "download" and choosing "copy link address"
- Make sure you trim off the "?" (question mark) and anything following it, you don't want it or need it.
- Dimensions are listed in two places, make sure to change both as one controls the size of the gadget & the other controls the size of the flash move
- 5) Save your file as something else with an .xml extension.
- 6) Upload your own .xml file to your google site as an attachment.
- 7) In Wave, insert a google by URL.
- 8) Choose the address of the uploaded xml file. Again trim the ? off.
TADA!
Obviously this has further implications as you can place any sort of html files you need as attachments on your Google Site and then bring them into a wave using a gadget similar to this one.
Wave is far more than just a communication tool, and it was probably about time for similar tools to just go away.
The gadget looks like this:
Can be seen in a public wave here:
