Embarcadero Pier, San Francisco 2005

 Snapped this photo one rainy evening in San Francisco and put it on my main web site, which has a blog for a home page. Former colleague and L.A. Times staffer Larry Davis was kind enough to put a very nice comment on the photo. Six months later, Larry was dead, a victim of suicide: it has affected how I view this photo ever since. Unlike most of the other photos in this collection, this picture was shot in RGB mode, and then converted to B&W and manipulated in Photoshop CS (of particular note, the sky has been darkened, and the umbrella figure has been dodged).
