Scottish rugby

WE ARE SCOTLAND

Scotland has many different rugby clubs and teams, however the Scottish team is comprised of players from different rugby clubs. The team is made up of 15 players who work together as a team to score tries and conversions. Tries are worth 5 points and conversions are worth two points each.

Scotland have recently played in the six Nations tournament invovling teams from Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, France and Italy. During these games Scotland have been coached by Frank Hadden, who has had a positive effect on the team since taking over a few years ago. The team is currently undergoing some changes with new younger players being introduced to the team. This has strengthed the team and they are playing better than before although their moral needs to be increased.

The Scottish team have always had very strong support from the Scottish public despite the end result they achieve. The team also has some royal support with Her Royal Highness Princess Anne supporting the team at all their home matches at Murrayfield.

Some member of the team are Chris Paterson, who is statisically the best kicker in the world, highlighted by the fact that he missed no attemps at goal in the 2007 Rugby World Cup or the 2008 Six Nations games. Paterson is 6 foot and normally plays in either fullback or wing positions.
He is not just a great kicker but he also brings team spirt to the game and where ever the ball is you are sure to find Paterson supporting and helping team members. Another team member is Mike Blair who successfully captioned Scotland in the Six Nations games. Blair is 5 foot 11 inchs and normally plays in the position of scrum- half.
One of the newer members of the team is Thom Evans who is 6 foot and plays in a wing position. His brother, Max also plays on the team and both played well during the recent Six Nations tournament.
