Monday 7th - Christmas at the castle
- Shows, music and a very special Farther Christmas, the festive season is celebrated in a unique setting of Scotland's capital city.

Monday 14th - All a twinkle
- Taking place in Grassmarket this should bring enjoyment to all. An interesting show of street theatre using light. Shops in Grassmarket will also be offering promotions to anyone dressed in Santa suits.

Friday until Thursday 29th - 3rd January - Hogmanay events
- For a truely memorable place to see in 2010 visit Edinburgh and find a whole new meaning to the celebrations. The four days of events, music, dance and street theatre attracts people from all around the world. On New year's eve take to the Edinburgh's Princes street for the street party with live music, lights and fire works.More details can be found at Edinburgh's Hogmanay website.

November
Thursday 26th until the 3rd January - Edinburgh's christmas market
- Edinburgh's christmas season begins with the switching on of the christmas lights and winter wonder show on the Princes street gardens ice rink. After this Edinburgh has 6 weeks of exciting events, the German market, carol concerts, fun fairs and even more. The christmas market and fun fair/ice rink in Princes street gardens brings the magic of Christmas to live and offers much excitment for people of all ages. Enjoy the wonderful, traditional German food and gifts in a lovely setting.

Saturday the 28th - The illuminated car art parade
- See a wonderful spectecal of the car art parade including sights such as bagpipe truck and a Burke and Hare burrow. The parade is to celebrate Scottish inventions and culture in the heart of Edinburgh.

Saturday and Sunday the 26th and 27th - Magnificent Machines
- Visit the national musuem of flight and see many magnicicent machines from fire engines, monster trucks, vintage cars and more. You can also try your hand at quad biking, go karts and fairground rides.

Saturday and Sunday the 26th and 27th - Edinburgh's open doors day
- Door's open day offers you the oppertunity to see some of Edinburgh's culturally significient buildings for free. Most buildings over scene tours, exhibitions and many venues also offer additional activities for parents and childrens.

Monday until Saturday 28th until the 3rd of October - The Steamie
- One of Scotlands most loved plays. Set in a washhouse in Glasgow at hogmanay, where the girls have to finish their washing before the bells start ringing. See the girls sing, laugh and cry their way through the last day of the year.

Saturday 31st - Spooky Family day out
- Take the children along for a interesting and different day out at the waste education cabin where they will get the change to make something spooky from unwanted waste.
