January 29, 2009 - Kaden comes to play Yesterday my mom and my sister came over for a visit. The reason they come over was to take pictures for the calendar that we make each year, but my sister forgot her camera... so we just hung out instead. The kids had fun bonding with there cousin Kaden, who thought Korinthia was super cool, and thought it was funny when she cried... He is already such a little boy!!! hehe Kori was happy talking to Kaden until she saw me... she like to try and help with a baby that doesn't try and pull her hair, like her little sister has started doing. Trying to get Kaden to chew on her finger like she does with Korinthia. She opens her mouth and sticks out her tongue to try and get him to copy her. January 28, 2009 - 'Nothing but Blue Skies!' After all the snow was gone we had a week or two of beautiful sunshine. The kids loved the chance to get out and play without getting cold. And I enjoyed sitting and watching them with the sunshine warming me up. One gorgeous sunshiny day the kids and I went out to play with bubbles while Korinthia (who has become a grouchy teether the last couple weeks) took a nap. Malaki is so proud of himself! Thus the close proximity to the camera. I can't believe he is going to be 4 this summer! Malaki and Lillie are now both potty trained. It is so nice to have just one child in diapers. And while it was a bit of a rough (and WET) road for a little while, I am so proud of my big kids, and so glad to be done. Lillie has been dry for a week, no wet bed, no day time accidents. She rarely needs to be told to try and go potty she just does it on her own (unless there is something really fun going on and she start to dance, then we tell her to go.) Malaki does great during the day he never has to be told and he doesn't feel like he has to tell us first anymore, he just leaves the room, does his thing, then comes back. He has been having some problems with bed wetting again, so I have to remember to get him up before I got to bed and take him. Both children are doing great though, even though we tried the whole sticker thing or treats, none of that really worked. They just had to learn through trial and error. However they did enjoy doing the stickers for the first couple of days (it only worked for one day)... here are some pictures of my big kids showing off their "I went potty" pages. January 26, 2009 - Tossed aside One of the kids' favorite things to do is play with daddy. Korinthia enjoys watching, but she is still a little small, which is probably good because she is little and they play rough. Want to see what happens when you tackle daddy??? I keep waiting for the day when he throws a little too hard and on of them hits the wall... but so far no one has gotten hurt playing this game. I however have to leave the room sometimes! January 21, 2009 - Sitting all alone Korinthia can sit up all alone, and she is almost ready to crawl!!! She is so proud of herself, as are we! January 22, 2009 - Walkin in a Winter Wonder Land When we got home from my parents house after being snowed out for nearly two weeks we were pleased to find that there was still several inches of snow on the ground. We grabbed a couple pizzas when we got in to town and had dinner as soon as we got home. Then we bundled the kids up in the nice snow suits my mom got them and went out to play. Pictures of me with my favorite people! Getting ready for some fun!! Helping daddy build a snowman (which mommy forgot to get pictures of) A little worried at being left alone in the snow "oh good mommy is here" Lillie loves to help with her little sister Watch out! Snow monster!!! Oops, fell in a hole, guess the snow monster forgot to watch out! January 21, 2009 - Chill'n with good friends We went shopping at the mall with all four kids. They did a great job and it was fun to go out together like we used to. We ended up having a slumber party because the roads to Sweet Home were pretty bad. So Kristen and Carson stayed at my parents house with us. In the morning the kids had "hot chocolate" and colored. Our kids get along great together, it is so fun to watch them interact. They already are doing the boys against girls thing... or rather, boys against Lillie. They made her the dinosaur(a part Lillie was all to happy to do) and they ran from her. A few pictures of our morning fun... January 20, 2009 - I can't believe it's Christmas (a little late) Well we celebrated Christmas with my family the weekend before, Jereme's family Christmas Eve and Christmas day, and my mom's side of the family Christmas day as well! We do a lot of Christmas parties, I love the chance to get to see everyone. We had to miss out on the one for my dad's family because we had already came home, and I had the flu. Not a whole lot to say other than that we had a great time and the kids loved all the presents. Morgan got a stocking too! Our way of saying thanks for being such a great "family member" ![]() Lillie digs into her stocking ![]() She got some cool ponies and BIG GIRL PANTIES! ![]() Daddy checks out the cool "worm" Malaki got in his stocking ![]() ![]() Showing off the cool stuff he got Malaki got some Hotwheels in his stocking and some socks, both were wrapped and looked about the same, so he would start to open one and if it was socks he threw it behind him and said, "nope, not that one." Lillie on the other hand had more fun opening that seeing what she got. ![]() ![]() The kids also got stickers, Malaki shared some with me ![]() Korinthia was fascinated by the cool toy grandma put in her stocking ![]() See how excited Kaden was to open his stocking!!! ![]() ![]() Kaden's daddy (uncle Jeremy to my kids) having fun being a new dad and "helping" with Kaden's stocking Malaki plays "Santa" ![]() Till he finds a present of his own Lillie gets ready with a present.... (do you know how hard it was to find a water baby, I have been looking since last summer!) Lillie sits with her baby and watches to see what Morgan got (I love this picture!) January 19, 2009 - Trim up the Tree We didn't get a Christmas tree this year, the time I was planning on getting it was after we got stuck down in Lebanon, and then we got home after Christmas, so no tree for us. But it worked out ok because my mom hadn't gotten her decorated yet, so the kids still got to help decorate a tree this year. They had fun doing it, even if they aren't ready to make a living out of it, they did a pretty good job. Malaki was the first to come help grandma, but it didn't take long for Lillie to follow. She had just been working on potty training at home and we didn't want to go back to diapers... so she is in her underwear. She does better about not wetting when she doesn't have pants on. Malaki gets some ornaments out of the bag. Some of the pictures are with flash and some are without, thus the major difference in color. January 16, 2009 - Welcome Kaden!!! ![]() Tiny feet with Mommy and Daddy's wedding rings ![]() Anyhow, we braved the ice and slippery roads to go see him. THe kids love him, and Lillie says his name (kaen) every time she sees a picture of him. Here are some photos of the kids enjoying their first cousin! We had to bribe Malaki, he was tired and more interested in watching cartoons, he has done this "baby thing" two time already! Lillie on the other hand adores her new cousin and was happy to just sit and hold him while talking and watching cartoons And Kori was just thinking "finally, I am not the smallest anymore!!!" BARELY! ![]() So we had a very busy December, but life has started to slow down a little again so hopefully I will have more time to maintain this site better. I will give a quick rundown of some of the highlights since I last updated here, and then over the next few days I will try and go in to a little more detail and a lot more pictures. On December 16th, 2009 My adorable nephew Kaden was born. He was 8lbs 5 ounces, 20 1/2 inches long. He has a ton of hair!! My sister did great, as did my brother in law, I am so happy for them both! So that was the first night of the big ice storm that hit our area, but my ever wonderful husband braved the roads and took me down to see him. I knew that with the weather predictions if I didn't go then that I might now get to see him till after Christmas and New Years. The roads were not to bad going down, till we hit Corvallis, then it was pretty icy. But we made it, I think it was around 9 or 10pm and I got to see him before we headed down to my parents. We had a great time, although I think we wore out our welcome since we were stuck there for close to two weeks. The kids got to help decorate the tree... We had Christmas with My family, Jereme's family, and my mom's side of the family... We were snowed out of our home, but there was not really any snow where we were, it was kind of sad. Friends who live in this area said they measured around 18 inches at one point! There was still 5 or 6 inches at our place when we finally came home though, so we played in the snow that night... by the next day it was melting fast. This is after rolling away a lot of the snow for a snowman. The kids are all learning new things, which I will soon update you on as well. But first I have to get caught up on all of the stories that I have now started little bits of. Much more coming soon!!! |
