GATHERING - Here I Am To Worship
Tim Hughes

Verse 1
Light of the world You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

Chorus
Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

Verse 2
King of all day oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly you came to the earth you created
All for love's sake became poor

Ending
Here I am to worship You
Hallelujah Hallelujah!
I worship You for who You are
I worship You Hallelujah Hallelujah!
I worship You (for who You are x 3)

OFFERTORY - More Love
Gary Nicholson & Tim O'Brien

Verse 1
I'm so close to you baby But I'm so far away
There's a silence between us And there's so much to say
You're my strength, you're my weakness
You're my faith, you're my doubt
We gotta meet in the middle To work this thing out

Chorus
More love, I can hear our hearts cryin'
More love, I know that's all we need
More love, to flow in between us
To take us and hold us and lift us above
If there's ever an answer, It's more love

Verse 2
We're afraid to be idle So we fill up the days
We run on the treadmill Keep slavin' away
'Til there's no time for talkin'
About trouble in mind
And the doors are all closed Between your heart and mine

Verse 3
Just look out around us People fightin' their wars
They think they'll be happy When they've settled their scores
Let's lay down our weapons
That hold us apart
Be still for just a minute Try to open our hearts

COMMUNION HYMN - Reason To Believe
Bruce Springsteen (Terry Fitzpatrick, Soloist)

Seen a man standin' over a dead dog lyin' by the highway in a ditch
He's lookin' down kinda puzzled pokin' that dog with a stick
Got his car door flung open he's standin' out on Highway 31
Like if he stood there long enough that dog'd get up and run

Struck me kinda funny seem kinda funny sir to me
At the end of every hard earned day People find some reason to believe

Now Mary Lou loved Johnny with a love mean and true, She said
"Baby I'll work for you every day bring my money home to you"
One day he up and left her and ever since that, She waits
Down at the end of that dirt road for young Johnny to come back

Struck me kinda funny seemed kind of funny sir to me
How at the end of every hard earned day
People find some reason to believe

Take a baby to the river Kyle William they called him
Wash the baby in the water take away little Kyle's sin
In a whitewash shotgun shack an old man passes away
Take his body to the graveyard and over him they pray

Lord won't you tell us tell us what does it mean
Still at the end of every hard earned day
People find some reason to believe

Congregation gathers down by the riverside
Preacher stands with his Bible groom stands waitin' for his bride
Congregation gone and the sun sets behind a weepin' willow tree
Groom stands alone and watches the river rush on so effortlessly

Lord and he's wonderin' where can his baby be
Still at the end of every hard earned day
People find some reason to believe

POSTLUDE - Every Move I Make
David Ruis

Na na, na na na ...

Every move I make I make in You
You make me move Jesus
Every breath I take I breathe in You
Every step I take I take in You
You are my way Jesus
Every breath I take I breathe in You

Waves of mercy, waves of grace
Everywhere I look I see Your face
Your love has captured me
Oh, my God, this love
How can it be?

Na na, na na na …

Guitar Ensemble - OPEN HOUSE
Tuesday September 8th at 6:00 pm

Psalm 100:1-2 [Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs] calls us to create a sustainable, welcoming, educational, diverse guitar and voice Ministry: centered in Christ, focused on the needs of the congregation, shared with our Music Ministry partners, and given freely without regard to personal pride.

Please join the Guitar Ensemble for an Open House on Tuesday, September 8th at 6:00 pm in Leatherman Hall.  All are invited!  Enjoy pizza and drink while we discuss the ensemble's mission and its commitments to the 2009-10 church calendar.  Learn about singing and playing opportunities available to you or your children.  Jam with us -- or just hang out -- in our normally scheduled rehearsal immediately following the Open House.

Please consider giving your teenager the keys for the evening.  And don't forget to bring your guitar, your voice, your congas, your questions, your suggestions, your interests, your whatevers!  Visit the ensemble's web page for more details:  www.zluth.org.  See you there!

Prelude – Surrender (Jeremy Camp)

Purify this tainted soul
I'm tired of living life a fool
Soften up this hardened clay
To be a servant, this I pray
A reflection of You, I long to be
So Your kingdom I will seek

I surrender to Your throne
Oh, I surrender to Your throne
I will make my heart Your home
Oh, I surrender to Your throne

I've taken things I thought my own
Only to reap what I've sown
You've given back the years I fought
An ending love and grace You've brought
Eternal hope and peace You bring
And forever unto You I will sing

I surrender to Your throne
Oh, I surrender to Your throne
And I will make my heart Your home
Oh, I surrender to Your throne

Forever unto You I will sing
Forever unto You I will sing
Forever unto You I will sing
Forever unto You I will sing

I surrender
I surrender
I surrender, now
Oh, I surrender
And I surrender
And I surrender, now
Oh, I surrender
I surrender
I surrender
Oh, I surrender
I surrender
I surrender, now

Soften Up this hardened clay
To be a servant, this I pray.

Offertory - Easter Song (Annie Herring)

Hear the bells ringing They're singing that you can be born again
Hear the bells ringing They're singing Christ is risen from the dead

The angel up on the tombstone Said He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell his disciples That Jesus Christ is no longer dead

Joy to the word, He has risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah

Hear the bells ringing They're singing that you can be healed right now
Hear the bells ringing, they're singing Christ, He will reveal it now

The angels, they all surround us And they are ministering Jesus' power
Quickly now, reach out and receive it For this could be your glorious hour

Joy to the world, He has risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah He's risen, hallelujah, hallelujah

The angel up on the tombstone Said He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell his disciples That Jesus Christ is no longer dead

Joy to the world, He has risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah

Hallelujah!

Postlude – Reign In Me (Brenton Brown)

Every sunset sky
But my one request
Lord my only aim
Is that You’d reign in me again

Lord reign in me
Reign in Your power
Over all my dreams
In my darkest hour
You are the Lord
Of all I am
So won’t You reign in me again

Over every thought
Over every word
May my life reflect
The beauty of my Lord
Cause you mean more to me
Than any earthly thing
So won’t You reign in me again

Prelude – Love Rescue Me (U2)
Arranged By and Feat. Terry Fitzpatrick

Love rescue me, Come forth and speak to me,
Raise me up and don't let me fall
No man is my enemy, My own hands imprison me
Love rescue me

Many strangers have I met, On the road to my regret
Many lost who seek to find themselves in me
They ask me to reveal, The very thoughts they would conceal
Love rescue me

And the sun in the sky, Makes a shadow of you and I
Stretching out as the sun sinks in the sea
I'm here without a name, In the palace of my shame
Said, love rescue me

In the cold mirror of a glass, I see my reflection pass
See the dark shades of what I used to be,
See the purple of her eyes, The scarlet of my lies
Love rescue me

Yea, though I walk, In the valley of shadow
Yea, I will fear no evil, I have cursed thy rod and staff
They no longer comfort me, Love rescue me

I've conquered my past, The future is here at last
I stand at the entrance To a new world I can see
The ruins to the right of me, Will soon have lost sight of me
Love rescue me

Peace – Samba Pa Ti (Carlos Santana)
Instrumental

Offertory – Peace Train (Cat Stevens)

Now I've been happy lately, thinking about good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be, some day it's going to come

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Now I've been smiling lately, thinking about good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh peace train sounding louder, Glide on the peace train,
Come on now peace train

Yes, peace train holy roller, Everyone jump upon the peace train
Come on now peace train

Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too
Cause it's getting nearer, it soon will be with you

Now come and join the living, it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer, soon it will all be true

Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Postlude – Lord I Life Your Name on High (Rick Founds)

Lord I lift Your name on high, Lord I love to sing Your praises
I'm so glad Your in my life, I'm so glad You came to save us
You came from heaven to earth, to show the way
From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay
From the cross to the grave, From the grave to the sky
Lord I lift Your name on high

Mary, Did You Know?
Mark Lowry/Buddy Greene

Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you’ve kissed your little baby, then you’ve kissed the face of God.

Mary Did you know?

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, and the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb.

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great “I am.”

Lord of the Dance (Abbreviated)
Sydney Carter

I danced in the morning when the world was young
I danced in the moon and the stars and the sun
I came down from heaven and I danced on the earth
At Bethlehem I had my birth

Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance, said he
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he

I danced for the scribes and the Pharisees
They wouldn't dance, they wouldn't follow me
I danced for the fishermen James and John
They came with me so the dance went on …

Little Drummer Boy
Katherine K. Davis

Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
When we come.

Baby Jesu, pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum?

Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum.
