RSS RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows you to subscribe to and receive podcasts and blog entries automatically. Clicking on the RSS button, located under Subscriptions on the blog’s main page, should open a window/tab showing various options to subscribe to the RSS feed. You will need an aggregator, also known as a podcatcher, to subscribe to the feed. Podcatchers allow you to automatically receive the latest podcasts and, in some cases, blog entries as well. There are various free podcatchers available online. Juice, Google Reader and iTunes are only three examples. If you want to receive blog as well as podcast entries, Google Reader is very easy to use and is entirely web-based so you can access your account from any computer. Simply sign-in to your Google account (free), and you will find the reader under “more” at the top of the page. You can either listen to the episode in your browser or download it. Some podcatchers, like Juice and iTunes, download podcasts directly to your computer so you can listen off-line or with a portable digital media player. You can also paste this URL into the podcatcher of your choice: gscoas.libsyn.com/rss It is not necessary to use a podcatcher to enjoy a podcast. On the blog entry, you can click on the ‘pod’ icon next to the entry or the ‘direct download’ link to listen to the episode. You can also right click on either of these and save the mp3 file to your computer. If you have any questions or need any assistance please email us at gscpodcast@gmail.com. Visit the blog.
