Faculty Spotlight: Philip Pavlik
Dr. Pavlik earned his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University where he specialized in Cognitive Psychology. With a wealth of research experience, Dr. Pavlik joined U of M’s Cognitive Psychology program during the 2011-2012 academic year. A member of the GSCC recently sat down with Dr. Pavlik to discuss his perspectives on psychology, research, and life.
Dr. Pavlik responded that it was the inter-disciplinary, scientific approach to understanding humans that piques his interest in psychology. In fact, it was The University of Memphis’ inter-disciplinary spirit—specifically, the relationship between the Institute for Intelligent Systems (IIS) and the Psychology Department that drew him to the U of M.
