The Gordon Setter Club of America is proud to host the
16th renewal of the National Championships & Field Trial at the celebrated Cloverdale Farms this November.
The beautiful Cloverdale Farms, near the River City of Danville, Virginia,
has been the venue for several prestigious championships, including the 2006 & 2009 AKC Gun Dog Championships, the 2009 Vizsla National Championships and our own GSCA National Championships in 2007.
The festivities kick-off Tuesday, November 9th, with an Event Committee Meeting, a Standing National Field Trial Committee Meeting, a course ride and ending the day with a grand Welcoming Party for all participants and judges.
The first brace of the National Championship will be Wednesday morning.
The club is deeply grateful to the Leggett family for the use of
their farms, as well as their gracious southern hospitality.
Cloverdale Farm, often referred to as "Leggetts" or "Fred's Place", is along Virginia’s Southern Highway 58 which forms the boundary with North Carolina and was once the very heart of Virginia’s historic tobacco growing region. Today soybeans and cotton are harvested in the nutrient-rich soil and gently rolling hills.
Also the area today is frequented by tourists exploring sites and museums of the Revolutionary and Civil War periods. As visitors travel from one historic site to another, you are treated with stunning scenic country roads.
Ironically, the venue for our 2010 NC&FT sits in the hub of Virginia’s Racing Region. Home to many speedways and raceways for motor sports, our speedy field trial participants should feel right at home.
