Friday, May 14th: Another Night in Rio - SAMBA PARTY Come join us as we host this amazing PARTY with Grupo SAMBA RIO with special guest Claudinho Sorriso (Smile) and Dj Fausto Sousa.
Grupo Samba RIO is a music project put together by the legendary sambista master Jorge Alabe. Alabe's deep history and skill developed as he grew up playing Afro-Brazilian and samba rhythms in Rio de Janeiro, and took him around the world as director of percussion with the legendary performing company Oba Oba. Jorge is an acknowledged percussion master, and a popular and dedicated performer and teacher now based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Special guest Claudinho Smile's phenomenal talent comes from his rich background growing up in the streets of Rio. At a very young age Smile was already exposed to the magnificent world of Samba. Brazilian beats at its finest by SF's own Dj Fausto Sousa! This is just another reason why you should bring along your dancing shoes! Dj Fausto Sousa's tantalizing beats ranging from various forms of samba to Electro Boogie among other beats that mark authenticity through spins of rich Brazilian tracks.
