We are breeders of Belgian Shepherd Dog - Groenendaels located in Belle Ewart, at the shore of Lake Simcoe only 90km from Toronto, Southern Ontario, Canada.
I, Anna, have had Groenendaels at home since I was 9 years old. I got the kennel name “Groguard” in the beginning of year 2000 in Finland and the first litter saw daylight in June 2003 in Sweden. To my mind an ideal groenendael is everything you could ever hope for a good working and family dog; a balanced dog with good nerves and drives. This is why I love this breed, its all in one and you will never want to change the breed after having a good one of these. Joe, my husband, was introduced to this breed through me and got his very first dog by getting married with me in 2007.
I have always been interested in training my dogs, and have been competing with them in various trials and training them for even more. My first dog I ever competed with was FIN&S CH JK3 TK2 Voo Doo's Gump, he also became the father of my A-litter. "Zorro" was a once in a lifetime dog, With him I competed besides tracking and obedience, Search, SAR, agility, we also trained IPO with him. He was always ready for work and LOVED it! After him came JK3 Bellidis Arlene, and KORAD BH CD Inova Baton Tiroir. All my dogs have been trained for tracking and obedience cause I have liked them the most.
At the moment we have 3 groenendaels living with us, Inova du Baton Tiroir "Nova" and Novas puppies Groguard Canis Major "Major" and Cassiopeia "Cassi".
One of Novas puppies Voo Doo's Lana "Lola" is also living at our friends in breeders terms.
In breeding my goal is to breed healthy, well-typed Belgian Shepherds with good working capacities and character. As I like to train my dogs and compete with them in working-dog trials, obedience etc. is why I also value the most a good character and working capasity in Belgians and want to prioritise them in breeding groenendaels.
