Yes, we have jobs in Fairbanks!  This was part of the reason for our move!  We were both tired of working for Alaska DEC, and decided we wanted something different.  Heidi scored a job with the Alaska Fire Service working in a job-share with another meteorologist (that's Sharon).  That means 7 days on, 7 days off in the summer, and in the winter, 40 hours every two weeks.  Not bad at all, eh? 

In August, Dan started a position with the State of Alaska, this time with the Department of Transportation. He is in charge of the IT department at the airport, that is, he is the IT department.  (IT = Computer Geek.) He loves his job, and has recently become infected with airplane fever being around so many aircraft.  He has decided to work towards his pilot's license this winter!  Then he will be justified buying a plane...
