Air Hall Project:
Members please note Due to unfavourable credit terms offered by our Bank on the funding of the Air Hall, the Committee have taken the decision to defer the construction for up to 12 months. Whilst this decision will be disappointing to many of our Club members, the Committee believes it to be the most prudent course of action. The Committee wish to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely the sub-committee, led by Tom Shelly, for their dedication to date. We will keep you advised of any further developments as they arise. GLTC Committee 2009 | Notice of E.G.M.

Members attended a meeting to see how the cover could work on courts 10,11 & 12. Des Allen, CEO Tennis Ireland talked about their experiences with their 'air hall' installed last year over 3 courts in the Nat. Tennis Centre DCU. For more info click here Court Cover Proposal 27th March 2009 At Dec '08 AGM the GLTC committee was asked to investigate possibility of a bubble court cover for courts 10,11 and 12. A sub committee was formed, chaired by Tom Shelly and has been in discussions with Covair who supply/erect these structures in Ireland and the UK. Covair domes are used to cover 3 courts at National Tennis Centre in DCU and also in Belfast Boat Club - a number of Irish clubs are currently in discussions with them. Members of the sub committee have viewed/played in these domes and Covair are due to visit Greystones in coming weeks to carry out site investigation etc. We will keep members posted with progress - please click here for more information on these structures |
