Mens Floodlight League 2009 round up:

GLTC1 (Premier): Captain - Ian Anderson: Forget the Fantasic Four & the Fab Four, the quartet of Ian Anderson, Eugene Strong, Conor Harpur & Paul O'Sullivan steamed their way through the group and qualified as runners up in the section. Playoff draw wasn't kind and the lads went out to a strong Monkstown side. GLTC2 (Class 3): Captain - Graham Cashell: In the end with both finalists coming from this section it was always going to se a tough ask. Like Custer at the Little Big Horn the captain tried everything in his power to battle against relegation. Even the late arrival of the 'Substitute Cavalry' couldn't prevent the team eventually being overrun by the indians at the battle of the little big horn a.k.a Sandycove LTC. | GLTC3 (Class 3): Captain - Wolfgang Schnittgner: In contention right up until the last match the team put up a strong showing to finish 3rd in the section. Ran into yet another strong Sandycove team (what are those guys being fed?). Good to see some of our younger players getting a run (and I don't mean Lorcan!). |
