It has been an exciting season at the Greensboro Market.  Rain or shine, the market can be found at the gazebo in the heart of Greensboro. It operates on Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm, now through the end of October.  The market has the benefits of the nearby Scenic Monongahela River and the beautifully restored historical sites which add to the charm of the Greensboro market. The community has worked diligently to preserve the character of the historic town while enhancing the neighborly atmosphere. The Market has a hometown appeal which is so quaint that it takes you back to a time long gone. Whether you are looking for fresh produce from our local growers or delicious bake goods, homemade herbal skincare or maybe you just stopped by for coffee and lunch, the Greensboro market is the place to be. You can meet up with old friends and make new, while enjoying the talent of our local musicians.

On Saturday, August 20 the market will once again welcome Prem Trollope, who has traveled from London, England to visit friends in Waynesburg.  In London, she teaches elementary school students.  Her talents with crafts and children alike were apparent in the children’s ready participation with the art project last week, and we look forward to her sharing her talents and passion with us again this coming weekend.  Again, we would like to thank Prem Trollope for taking time from her travels to share a little bit of her world with us.  Singer/songwriter Amy Randolph will also be joining us this coming Saturday.  Come find her on the lawn near the gazebo, where she will be performing live folk music.  Next weekend, on August 27th, we will welcome Mike Gredler on guitar, a personal friend of Harley Gapen, our sausage/meat farmer.  Mike was an Army soldier stationed over in the Middle East for the past few years, and has since come back Greene County.

The Greensboro Farmer’s market is sponsored in part by a Seed Award Grant of the Sprout Foundation.
