Some canoes and kayaks will be available to use or Bring your own canoe or kayak and join us!
Where: Meet at the PFBC boat launch site, across from the Ice Plant in Glassworks, PA.
What to bring: binoculars, cameras, polarized sunglasses for fish sightings, hat, boat shoes to get wet, comfortable clothing for the weather, sunscreen and maybe a sealable plastic bag to keep some things dry! Only $5/person to reserve your spot We sell out each time so reserve early! Meet at 2 pm. Sat., May 26 – Paddle the Mon at Point Marion, PA Put in at the Point Marion Park boat ramp on S. Main St. We will paddle with the Albert Gallatin Regatta boat parade, then up the Cheat River and back to Point Marion Park. 4 miles. Meet at 10 am. Sat. & Sun., June 9 & 10 – Mon River Sojourn We will paddle the section between Masontown and Fredericktown, PA for a two day paddling trip with one night of camping. We will finish in Fredericktown on Sunday for the Riviera Restaurant Ribfest. 6 to 10 miles per day. Details to be announced soon. Sun., June 17 – Paddle the Mon at Greensboro, PA Put in at the Greensboro PA Fish & Boat Commission (PFBC) ramp at Glassworks on Stoney Hill Rd. Join us as over 50 people paddle together on the annual Father’s Day trip using canoes and kayaks provided by the PFBC. 4 miles. Meet at 2 pm. Details to be announced soon. Sat. & Sun., September 1 & 2 – Paddle the Mon at Greensboro, PA Put in at the old ferry landing at the bottom of County St. for the Greensboro Art Blast Festival. Participate in “Try-It Paddling” and use our kayaks that we bring for you. Paddle up to 400 feet per trip within sight of launch. Details to be announced soon. Non-members must pay $5 per trip. Everyone must sign a waiver form. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The day trips will be about 2 to 3 hours on the water and may take a total of 5 hours including shuttles. These are self-sufficient, fun, exploratory trips on the flat, slowly-moving water of the Mon River. Paddling lesson is included. Everyone is responsible for their own safety, boats, paddles, and food/drinks. You also must have a personal flotation device (PFD) life jacket for each person. Meet at the put-in by the scheduled time, and we will set up a shuttle together (this could take an hour). Please try to be early!
