 Our Building Project

We have a building consent!

Our current building is over 80 years old and no longer meets Ministry of Education regulations. We have been fundraising for a number of years for a new building.

We have now signed an unconditional building contract with Keith Hay Homes, and we are expecting construction to get started on our new purpose built building very soon! This is a huge milestone for Greenhithe Playcentre. We have been working very hard to get to this point for quite a number of years. It is thanks to the hard work and perseverance of many of our ex members, as well as our current building project team, that we are finally in a position to get phase one of this project underway.

The cost of phase one is $344,000 which covers the build and connection of services.

We have raised $184,000 to date and have confirmed grants for an additional $120,000.  The remaining balance of $40,000 is being funded through a loan from the North Shore Playcentre Association.

We will continue to fundraise to reduce the amount of our loan as much as possible, and to pay for the phase two components of our project.  Phase two includes the laying of concrete paths, floor coverings and landscaping.  If you are able to offer us any assistance or sponsorship in these areas, we would love to talk to you!
