Green Festival Steward
When Required 5th – 6th June 2010. Description Newcastle Community Green Festival is an annual community based environmental festival that aims to use creative artistic and musical activities to raise awareness about environmental issues and demonstrate positive environmental solutions to these problems. The festival needs over 100 people to volunteer to help run the festival each year, without these volunteers the festival simply could not happen. Volunteer stewards are required to help in the safe and secure running of the Green festival. Main job roles include manning fixed steward points or patrolling set areas of the festival ensuring visitors to the event have a safe and enjoyable visit.
Volunteering in various shifts of 4 hours, commencing 8.30 am Saturday 5th June - 7.30pm Saturday 5th June; and 8.30 am Sunday 6th June - 11.00 pm Sunday 6th June.
Please Note: - all "security" matters will be dealt with by a fully trained safety / security team and you will not be expected to intervene in any disorder issues.
Skills and Qualifications - None required for general stewarding, though volunteers should preferable be enthusiastic and outgoing - No-under 18's due to child protection / safety issues - Meal and drink voucher provided per steward - Unfortunately expenses cannot be reimbursed - sorry Age/Gender Restrictions: Over 18 due to insurance and child protection issues Disabled Access: Park is accessible Equal Opportunities Policy: yes Expenses: Drink and meal provided for each shift but unfortunately no other expenses can be reimbursed Induction: Formal safety briefing to take place before shift
