"How To" and Educational Presentations

The Greater Green Bay Earth Week Coalition has also put together a number of "How To" and Educational presentations for its 2011 Earth Day Celebration.  There is sure to be something that you have always wanted to learn more about.  Come and check out the following events:

Thursday April 19, 2012

"Tapped: The Movie" Presentation and Panel Discussion:  7:00 p.m. at the Phoenix Center, UWGB. Stephanie Soechtig's debut feature is an unflinching examination of the big business of bottled water. This timely documentary is a behind-the-scenes look into the unregulated and unseen world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back the one resource that ought never to become a commodity: our water.  From the plastic production to the ocean in which so many of these bottles end up, this inspiring documentary trails the path of the bottled water industry and the communities which were the unwitting chips on the table. A powerful portrait of the lives affected by the bottled water industry, this revelatory film features those caught at the intersection of big business and the public's right to water.

The movie will be followed by a panel discussion on local tapped water quality and the concerns surrounding bottled water.

Saturday April 21 and Sunday April 22, 2012
Green Fair: St. Matthew Parish is hosting a green fair after its Saturday and Sunday masses. The Saturday session will be held after 4:30 mass at St. Matthew Parish, located at 130 St. Matthew Street, Green Bay. The Sunday session will be held after the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. masses. ECO BLOCK PARTY : The Coalition is sponsoring an Eco-Block Party immediately after the Green Parade. The block party will be held at Veterans' Memorial Park, immediately adjacent to the Neville Museum, so only a couple blocks away from the Green Parade.  There will be green friendly vendors and activities at the Block Party in celebration of Earth Day.  There will be plenty of activities for children to engage in, as well as adults to learn about sustainability and living a "greener" life.  This is another great family event.  Contact Jodi Arndt at jla@lcojlaw.com for further information.  Also refer to the "Special Events" page for more information on the Eco-Block Party.
