Gloria Preece  - Musical Director

Founding member,Gloria has been leading the group with outstanding success for over 30 years. She has spent all her working life teaching music to both adults and children as she spent a career in teaching in the primary sector as well as in secondary. Recently, Gloria was honoured to work with one of her former pupils, Robert Carlin, formerly from Eastwood Comprehensive, who has gone on to become a professional tenor singer, performing with such prestigious companies as Opera North and Glyndebourne.

Gloria has worked with a host of choirs in the area as a Musical Director and consultant. Her vast experience has enabled the choir to perform an extensive selection of music from traditional folk songs to eight part harmonic recital pieces.
Gloria's enthusiasm, motivation and drive ensure the choir's excellent performance quality at every venue.
 
Jean Thomas - Accompanist

Jean has been working with The Greasley Singers for many years. Formerly a music teacher in education and private tuition, she continues to feed her passion for music and performing by working with not only one choir but two and is also an accompanist for several local musical groups. Jean's talents are not limited to the piano as she plays the recorder and also belongs to a Baroque Quartet in which she plays the cello. In the spare time she has she supports her local branch of Oxfam.
 
Ruth King - Chair 

Ruth is a long standing member of the choir, who is also the deputy conductor. Her enjoyment of music includes not only singing, but she is also a talented flautist, often performing an instrumental piece at choir concerts.

 
Angela Crawford - Secretary

Angela has been with the choir for a number of years and has always had a strong interest in music, in her formative years she performed in choirs and musical productions. She is keen to pass on her enjoyment of music as she leads an infant school choir at the school where she teaches.
