
The Greasley Singers are a mixed choir with a vast repertoire, ranging from Bach to ABBA. They entertain for private and public occasions and also offer their services to aid charity events, whenever possible. The choir have supported Nottingham City Children's department, Rainbow Children's Hospice, Meningitis Trust to name but a few.
Established in 1979, The Greasley Singers celebrated their 30th Anniversary in 2009, with two of the original members and many long standing members remaining.The choir took its name from Greasley Church, where they once rehearsed, although they now use the Colin Dyson Centre, in Eastwood.
Musical Director, Gloria Preece, has conducted the choir from its beginnings and continues to enthuse and drive the members to new musical heights, challenging them with technical pieces, some containing eight parts. Gloria's high standards are appreciated by the many audiences who remark on the choir's excellent performances, whether they entertain an intimate venue with a small audience or in a large auditorium, their perfectly balanced sound fills the room.
The Greasley Singers are a member of The National Association of Choirs and are regularly asked to perform at the Midlands East Group Annual Concert, where they enjoy showcasing established and new selections, to their fellow performers.
