The Practice-a-Thon results are in and they are exciting!! We generated $4,000.00 with only five studios partcipating. Yes, that's right. $4,000.00!! Quite amazing and a lovely sum to start our mission. Josh Pifer, Agnes Kim and Patreece Jamgochian's studios contributed $1,000.00. Alicia Jones's studio contributed $1,000.00 and my studio contributed $2,000.00. We are still collecting pledges next week as well. Josh's studio had the winning student, Daniel Dijamco, with the most hours practiced of 15 1/2 hours in two weeks. My studio had a tie with two students, Kelsey Taylor and Karina Corona having the most sponsors of 6 each.
MSSL will keep 10% of the $4,000.00 for our Boys and Girls Club music classes. Alicia and I wrote a curriculum. I've had two Saturday training classes with 5 student teachers who will be at the Club Oct. 21 and 28th, Nov. 4 and 11th with a performance on Nov. 28th for the Thanksgiving feast for parents. The students are very excited and all 5 student teachers will be attending all of the sessions at the Club to support and help each other.
