Please join UT's Graduate Student Association in an effort to gather new toys (ages 6 months to 15 yrs) and/or cash for a local charity organization, Food For Thought.
- Each year, Food For Thought holds a Christmas Shop in which parents are able to "shop" for donated toys for their families. Last year, the organization provided toys for 500 children in the Toledo area and expect for that number to grow to 800 this year.
GSA will be collecting toys/ cash donations through December 10th in the GSA office (SU 1509) or can be picked as requested. Checks can be made out to "Food For Thought".
| The Noel Project
- Supports over 500 families during christmas season
- each family gets: food box for all christmas dinner ingredients
(including turkey), new clothes and toys for children and one child's
bike per family
- To DONATE: financial, new clothes, non-perishable food item (list is on website) and new toys (worth at least $10.00)
- There
is a christmas party on Dec 17 at 10 am at the Toledo Seagate center
after the volunteer event is over to pass out the gifts to the families
| Family House Toledo
- Family House is a non-profit organization dedicated to
helping families in crisis find permanent housing and regain control of their
lives.
- Family House seeks to help families reclaim their independent through
education, community resources, and compassion.
- In pursuit of this goal, Family
House offers families safe housing and social services to help families get to
the point where they can achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. Individuals who
wish to help Family House in its goals may do so through donations and
volunteering.
- Family House is also a part of the Kroger Community Rewards
